13 Die in Kaduna-Kano Road Accident

Thirteen people were confirmed dead in a ghastly motor accident along Kaduna-Kano expressway on Tuesday while many other passengers also sustained various degrees of injury in the auto crash involving a Kano-bound luxury bus and four other vehicles.

The accident was reported to have occurred around a village called Jar-marmara in Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State. An eyewitness, Mallam Sani Haruna said, “the luxury lost control and collided with four cars, in which 13 people died on the spot. The four cars were condemned.”

It was gathered that the luxury bus left Lagos for Kano on Monday evening before getting involved in the ill-fated accident in the early hours of Tuesday few kilometres to its destination.

Kaduna Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Hafiz Mohammed, confirmed the incident and the casualty figure to our correspondent.
