Court Orders FG To Pay Sunday Igboho N20bn In Damages


An Oyo State High Court has ordered the Federal Government to pay the sum of N20 billion to the Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho as damages for the invasion of his residence.

Justice Ladiran Akintola who passed the ruling on Friday declared that the raid conducted by the Department of State Service (DSS) on Igboho’s residence was illegal.

The Judge also described the raid as arbitrary aggression and prejudice against the activist.

According to the Court, the sum of money awarded to Igboho is a compensation for exemplary and aggravated damages against him during the invasion of his house by DSS.
