COVID-19: Nigeria Records 212 New Cases, Total Infections Now 64,728


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 212 new cases of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 64,728.

The health agency disclosed this on Thursday night via its Twitter handle.

The report from NCDC revealed that the new cases were reported from 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Lagos State has the highest number of new infections, as it recorded 71 cases, Imo and Plateau recorded 26 new cases each, while FCT recorded 19 fresh cases of the virus.

Other states are: Ondo – 17, Kaduna – 14, Rivers – 9, Oyo – 9, Katsina – 6, Osun – 4, Bauchi – 2, Ekiti – 2, Nasarawa – 2, Ogun – 2, Kano – 1, Kwara – 1 and Taraba – 1.

According to the health agency, fifty-three (53) more patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 60,790.

The death toll remains at 1,162, as no additional death was recorded in the last 24 hours in the country.
