Gunmen Abduct Students, Staff Of Kagara Government College In Niger State
Unknown gunmen, suspected to be bandits, have abducted some students and staff of Government Science College, Kagara in Rafi local government area of Niger state.
It was gathered that the attack on the school occurred around 2am on Wednesday morning.
The gunmen were said to have subdued the security guards on duty before storming the staff quarters and the student hostels.
The Nation reports that twenty-seven students, three staff and 12 family members were abducted by the armed bandits.
Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello, who confirmed the attack, disclosed that one student, Benjamin Doma, was shot dead in the attack.
The Governor had ordered that all boarding schools in Rafi, Mariga, Munya and Shiroro local government areas should be closed till further notice.
He assured of the safe return of the victims, saying the government will not sleep until they have got all the abducted persons back.
