According to Tony Robbins in one of his speeches, “Why We Do What We Do?” he asked. Two key questions from his fellow audience go thus; What drives you? What motivates you to do your daily tasks?
By asking these questions, we are able to explore ourselves and appreciate others. He was of the opinion that We are our own path to success!
In most of McConaughey speeches, he did lay emphasis on the fact that “You Should Define success for yourself.” Figure out what you want to achieve and enjoy the entire journey.
Considering one of the best motivational speeches in film, this scene starts with Smith and his son playing basketball. When his son shouts “I’m going pro,” Smith decides to try and frustrate his son’s expectations, telling him he never excelled at basketball, so he shouldn’t expect to. His son is visibly disappointed, and Smith launches into his speech proclaiming, “Don’t ever let somebody tells you that you can’t do something, not even me.” He tells his son, “You got a dream, you gotta protect it. You want something, go get it. Period.”
When Paul Buchheit was asked on which path to success he said; “The intrinsic path to success is to focus on being the person that you are, and put all of your energy and drive into being the best possible version of yourself.”
All you have to do is to focus on your unique self. You have no duplicate then why do you think imitating others whom you have no idea of their life journey is the best alternative for you. Do you think imitating them will make you look like them, or make you achieve what they’ve achieved? “Capital NO!!” All you need to do is to set a standard. Dream big! Build your mind towards achieving the dream which only you can gladly see.
Remember many had once had dream too, but failed to achieve their set standard. You asked why? Yes! this happened because, most of them had failed to patch where there appeared to be lickages like; – lack of ability to fight obstacles on their path, inability to overcome distractions, fear, anxiety, poor time management, incessant imitation of others, lack of will power, trying to please everyone and many more. If you want to be successful on the path to success, then! You must not be afraid of failure. John D. Rockefeller said “If you want to succeed you should strike out on new paths, rather than travel the worn paths of accepted success.” You continue trying…, trying… keep trying… until you finally hit the jackpot, and never be afraid of doing the right thing even if no one celebrates you.
Fear is not an option but only makes you accept the ordinary, limit your potentials and can also hold you back towards achieving your dreams.
If every opportunity and challenge are perceived as too much of risk, we remain stagnant. We start to pick up bad habits that prevent us from doing what is necessary only because we are too afraid to confront our fears.
The collinsdictionary.com defines ‘success’ as “the achievement of something you have been trying to do” This shows that to achieve success there is need for so many trial. So! Why not give it a try. If you can dream it, then! You can achieve it. Consider failure as an essential learning experience. It’s a challenge for you to try even better next round. The famous Thomas Edison who invented bulb had once failed severally to refine the light bulb (one of the few creations he merely refined but did not invent) so many times it took him 10,000 attempts to perfect the work. Rather than accept to be defeated by failure, he strived and eventually achieved his dream. He is quoted as answering questions on his failures: ‘I have not failed I only learn the 9,999 ways to invent a bulb’.
A scientist and formal Indian President (2002-2007) A.P.J Kalam once said, “If you fail never give up because “F.A.I.L” means, “First Attempting In Learning”. End is not the end, in fact E.N.D means, “Effort Never Dies”, if you get ‘NO’ as answer, remember ‘N.O’ means, “Next Opportunity” So be positive and never give up on your dream….. TO BE CONTINUE… (Vol.2)
