Police Apprehend Five Armed Robbery Suspects In Abuja


The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has said that it arrested five armed robbery suspects in Abuja last Wednesday.

Police spokesperson, ASP Yusuf Mariam stated in a statement on Sunday that the suspects were arrested by operatives of the police force around Wuse following a distress call that they were robbing their victims.

Mariam said the suspects confessed to being responsible for criminal activities along Wuse axis.

She said: “The suspects are Sanusi Ibrahim 20years, Salim Umar 19years, Kabiru Umar 19years, Shamsudeen Rabiu 20years and Ibrahim Shehu 19years.

“Exhibits recovered from them are eight wristwatches; five Ipads; five laptops; twenty-five ID and ATM cards; thirty-three sets of gold and silver jewelleries; thirty UAE Dirham; three thousand (3,000) CFA; one hundred South African Rand; twenty-five thousand Naira; three cutlasses and one sword.

“The suspects will be arraigned in court after investigation.”
