Suspected Kidnappers Stab Policemen, Vigilante In Bayelsa

Suspected kidnappers have stabbed two policemen and a vigilante while they were trying to resist arrest in Bayelsa.

The incident happened in the Adagbabiri community in the Sagbama Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.

It was gathered that the suspected kidnappers were planning to kidnap a victim in the community when the vigilante group alerted the police who rounded off their hideout.

Eventually, two of the suspects were arrested, while others escaped from the scene.

The Bayelsa State Police Spokesman, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident said that the suspects stabbed two cops and a vigilante.

He said: “The injured officers are responding to treatment at the Sagbama General hospital. The suspects are undergoing interrogation. Investigation is ongoing.”
